Collonges La Rouge

We went to Collonges La Rouge, which was quite beautiful, although a bit touristy. It was better once we got off the main street.

L'Étoile Mystérieuse

Jan spent quite a bit of time with Julien translating the Tintin book, L'Étoile mystérieuse. Unfortunately, they were unable to finish by the time we had to leave for Paris. However, Jan and Bill had a bookstore around the corner from their Paris apartment that focused on french comic books, so they were able to by him a copy of the book to take home to Indiana, much to Julien's delight.

Clone trooper helmet

Julien worked on perfecting his clone trooper helmet. We made it out of paper, tape, pipe cleaners and a couple tiny sprinkler heads.

St Julien Maumont

There was a little town named St Julien Maumont near our house. We couldn't resist a photo.

On the way down the hill we saw several old houses with large vegetable gardens.

The cafe at the end of the day

We cooled off with cold drinks and ice-cream. The kids played on the treacherous playground. I've never been down a steeper slide! but there were no injuries and the kids were happy.

Julien enjoyed taking photos at the castle. His favorites were the series of photos of the gift shop window. My favorite is the round window. Click on it and if you look carefully you can see a spiderweb.

Sebastian woke up on the way out.

Napping in the carrier

Sebastian did not take a nap in the car as planned, but he did end up sleeping in my front carrier. It was a bit hot, but he was sleeping and snugly so it was worth it.

Hot day

It was a hot day and we all needed to take a moment to sit back and look around.
