Toys

He also took some photos of his toys. Are the playmobil guys at school?

Julien's pix

Julien has been taking photos with his new camera. I love his self portrait.

Sweater

Recently, I was looking through storage in our basement, when I discovered a box of baby clothes that used to be Julien's. Unfortunately, Sebastian had already outgrown most of the clothes. Luckily, this beautiful sweater, knit by Jessica, still fits!

Cry

By the end of the visit Ada was very ready to go home. She had the most heart wrenching, beautiful, vibrating baby cry. So different than the grown up cries of Sebastian.

Swing

Sebastian was happy we went to the park.
Julien greeted Kevin and Lane with his handmade "Wolverine" super hero mask on. We recently got him a new toothbrush in the shape of "Wolverine." He likes it so well he has been using it in his set-ups (no longer called "set-ups").

Holding Ada

We also enjoyed holding tiny baby Ada.

Kevin and Lane

Kevin and Lane came over for brunch this weekend with little baby Ada. It was good to see them in the groove of new parenthood.

Zeus snuggles

Lately the cats have been particularly snuggly. Perhaps it is due to the weather getting colder. Sebastian loves the extra attention. He also likes to say "kitty."

Yoda takes off!

Sebastian loved trick-or-treating. He ran down the street trying to keep up with the big kids (I tried the stroller, but he would have none of it). He enjoyed going up to the houses with the big kids, but didn't know what to do when he got there. A couple times, when he was offered a treat out of a bowl, he took something out of his own bag and put it back into the bowl. Reverse trick-or-treating.

When we got home I thought he would pass out with exhaustion, but, after a long nurse, he was up and ready for more action. That night after Julien went to bed he started talking like crazy. He said bubble, kitty, brother, and a few other words. He also started to head down the hall to try to retrieve his brother. We managed to stop him before waking up Julien.

Neighborhood trick-or-treating

After Jun came over, we went down the street to our neighbors, who had invited all the families from the bus stop over for Chili to start off Halloween night. We ended up trick-or treating as one big pack. The neighborhood was great this year. Everyone stayed in the neighborhood for trick-or treating, and there are a surprising number of kids in the neighborhood. Julien couldn't have been happier.

Halloween!

Jun came over for trick-or-treating this Halloween. Everyone was excited at the start of the night.

The last soccer game

After Julien's long day at school on the 30th, he had his last soccer game. Cutters held a Jamboree, which was a bit of a madhouse. They had four 15 minute games. A bit confusing for people of any age, let alone 5 and 6 year olds! Julien's team had a fabulous time, but were generally more interested in wrestling, tackling, spinning, piling, and falling. His team has really bonded well, but they are not the best team. Nor is his coach the best coach. She has missed several games and been late to many others including this last game. Although scores are not officially kept, it was clear that they lost every game. Honestly, the kids didn't mind much and had a great time, so that was all that mattered. I could tell Julien's head was not in the game. It didn't help that his buddy, Jun, was more concentrated on getting the ball away from Julien then getting the ball away from the other team!

Raggedy Ann

Parents were invited to Julien's Halloween party at school the day before Halloween. It was fun to be in the class room, but a bit of a whirlwind. We were all impressed by his teacher's Raggedy Ann costume. The kids wore their costumes all day long. Fun, but tiring. I was happy that the party was not held on Halloween.

In one of these photos Julien is standing with his friend Avi. They also went to Hoosier Courts together.

Magic

The boys LOVED the magician. Julien laughed like crazy at the penny changing sizes and all the other silly tricks. The magician is actually the head organizer of Cutters Soccer. Funny to see him wearing a different hat (so to speak).

family

Some of the helpers recognized us from last year- apparently we were famous as the medieval family!

Yoda on the trail

Yoda, in particular, was very popular on the trail. He didn't entirely understand the concept, but he enjoyed participating.

Trick or Treat Trail

We took Julien and Sebastian out to the Trick or Treat trail this last weekend with Julien's friends, Cedric and Josh. They were dressed as Peter Pan and Captain Hook. Their mom sewed their costumes, and they were beautifully made! Although I did not make Julien's costume this year, I did make Sebastian's Yoda ears, with a little help from Kathy and Julien.

Happy Halloween!

Nap

Sometimes, after a long week of day care, Sebastian just wants to nap on my lap.

Fall colors

The leaves are turning a bit later this year, probably due to the drought and hot weather. But still, Kathy and Rick were able to have a taste of the fall colors before heading home.

Pumpkins

Julien and Sebastian loved carving pumpkins. I guess I did too. Julien drew faces and I carved them out. Sebastian loved being included in the activity.

Julien was very excited to roast pumpkin seeds. After sorting out the seeds Julien washed them all by himself, creating a big mess in the sink (we hadn't realized what he was doing until too late. Pumpkin seeds were everywhere!). Despite the mess, we made some really tasty roasted pumpkin seeds, which we ate with black bean tostadas. Yum!

Outside

Sebastian and Grandad both enjoyed themselves outside. The weather was beautiful last weekend. We had a barbecue, a picnic at Oliver Winery and generally spent a lot of time outdoors.

Cuddle

Julien was very very happy to see his grandparents. He was ready to cuddle! At Julien's request Kathy and Rick took him to Target to get star wars figures. He choose Darth Vader and Princess Leia. When he came home and opened up the package he discovered that they came with a star wars comic book! He now brings this comic book with him everywhere...on the bus, to a play date, out to eat, etc. Since he has not seen the movie and has only picked up bits of the story by rumor and innuendo, it has been very useful to have a comic book that gets into the details.
